Lisa also maintains her CPR and AED certifications through The American Heart Association. Although Lisa’s passion is instructing group exercise classes, she takes her indoor experience to outdoor cycling which has only helped to bring new ideas and motivation to her classes. When talking to Lisa, this passion for instructing is very evident, however, she also has a very supportive family. Her husband of 18 years and 2 kids keep her very busy when not building profiles and looking for hot new music.
What Makes Us Different?
It is Underground Cycling’s goal to keep all participants engaged in each and every workout and to only add value to the members. Underground Cycling is an indoor cycling facility that also offers TRX, Barre and strength training. These workouts are provided to keep its members well rounded. Indoor Cycling for cardiovascular endurance Barre and TRX for strength, flexibility, and balance. Circuit classes introduce weights, resistance bands, exertubes, and stability balls to increase the degree of difficulty to encourage the members to challenge themselves. It is the goal of Underground Cycling to break down each workout to the individuals’ wants and needs from an exercise program. Due to the nature of all the classes, the individual is required to earn the progression of the intensity. Participants determine their own workout from the class, and no one is ever left to struggle. Although our tag line is “this ain’t a ride around the block”, it is understood that we are all riding around a different block, and you as an individual get to choose where you are going.
Keeping the participants engagement goal in mind, Underground Cycling provides a Bluetooth heart rate transmitter to each participant during class. This transmitter is used to capture the effort level of the participant that is then projected for viewing during the classes using the Keiser Projection Software. The Keiser M3i uses Bluetooth Smart technology to transmit rider data to multiple devices at once. Riders can use their own apps to collect data, while still participating in the class.
